STANDING ORDER

All Sub-Registrars,

Subject: The taking of mortgages by mortgagees under the Rajasthan Stamp Act, 1999, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Rajasthan Stamp Act, 1999 (Rajasthan Act 14 of 1999), the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Rajasthan hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the taking of mortgages by mortgagees.

2. The matter has been examined. Every mortgagee carrying on the taking of mortgages shall make an application in Form E to the District Registrar within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Sub-Registrar shall ensure that franking impression is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Registrar within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Rajasthan.
