CIRCULAR

To

All Deputy Director Generals,

Subject: The establishment of telecommunication infrastructure by infrastructure providers under the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997 (24 of 1997), the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India hereby issues the following

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the establishment of telecommunication infrastructure by infrastructure providers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every infrastructure provider carrying on the establishment of telecommunication infrastructure shall make an application in Form H to the Central Government within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the establishment of telecommunication infrastructure is undertaken, and the Central Government shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this circular may be brought to the notice of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
