STANDING ORDER

All Assistant Drugs Controllers,

Subject: The running of a genetic counselling centre by genetic counselling centres under the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act, 2007, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act, 2007 (Karnataka Act 21 of 2007), the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a genetic counselling centre by genetic counselling centres.

2. The matter has been examined. Every genetic counselling centre carrying on the running of a genetic counselling centre shall make an application in Form 20-B to the State Medical Council within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. The Assistant Drugs Controller shall ensure that establishment is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Medical Council within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka.
