STANDING ORDER

To

All Panchayat Inspectors,

Subject: The keeping of a cattle pound by owners of a cattle pound under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 (West Bengal Act 41 of 1973), the Tourism Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a cattle pound by owners of a cattle pound.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a cattle pound carrying on the keeping of a cattle pound shall make an application in Form 3 to the District Panchayat within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Panchayat Inspector shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Panchayat within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of West Bengal.
