STANDING ORDER

To

All Registering Officers,

Subject: The transmission of programmes by cable by cable operators under the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984 (Tamil Nadu Act 7 of 1984), the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the transmission of programmes by cable by cable operators.

2. The matter has been examined. Every cable operator carrying on the transmission of programmes by cable shall make an application in Form VIII to the Press Registrar within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Registering Officer shall ensure that periodical is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Press Registrar within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
