CIRCULAR
To
All Energy Auditors,
Subject: The storage of petroleum by persons engaged in the supply of energy under the Electricity Act, 2003, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (36 of 2003), the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission hereby issues the following
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the storage of petroleum by persons engaged in the supply of energy.
2. The matter has been examined. Every person engaged in the supply of energy carrying on the storage of petroleum shall make an application in Form IV to the Central Commission within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the storage of petroleum is undertaken, and the Central Commission shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this circular may be brought to the notice of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission.
