STANDING ORDER
To
All Engineer and Ship Surveyors,
Subject: The pilotage of vessels by pilots of a port under the Maharashtra Maritime Board Act, 1996, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Maritime Board Act, 1996 (Maharashtra Act 10 of 1996), the Ports Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the pilotage of vessels by pilots of a port.
2. The matter has been examined. Every pilot of a port carrying on the pilotage of vessels shall make an application in Form 8 to the Port Authority within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. The Engineer and Ship Surveyor shall ensure that bill of lading is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Port Authority within twenty-one days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Maharashtra.
