STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputies Commissioner of Excise,

Subject: The manufacture of excisable articles by manufacturers under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (Punjab Act 1 of 1914), the Water Resources Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the manufacture of excisable articles by manufacturers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every manufacturer carrying on the manufacture of excisable articles shall make an application in Form C to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within ten days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Deputy Commissioner of Excise shall ensure that transport pass is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within ten days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Punjab.
