STANDING ORDER
To
All Deputy Tahsildars,
Subject: The holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling under the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983 (Tamil Nadu Act 4 of 1983), the Revenue Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling.
2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land in excess of the ceiling carrying on the holding of land in excess of the ceiling shall make an application in Form 8 to the State Government within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.
3. The Deputy Tahsildar shall ensure that record of rights is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Government within fifteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
