STANDING ORDER

To

All Incident Commanders,

Subject: The maintenance of fire safety in a high-rise building by owners of a high-rise building under the Tamil Nadu Fire Service Act, 1985, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Fire Service Act, 1985 (Tamil Nadu Act 11 of 1985), the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the maintenance of fire safety in a high-rise building by owners of a high-rise building.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a high-rise building carrying on the maintenance of fire safety in a high-rise building shall make an application in Form D to the State Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Incident Commander shall ensure that warning is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Authority within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
