STANDING ORDER

To

All Secretaries of the Gram Panchayat,

Subject: The plying of a tractor for hire by owners of a tractor plying for hire under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 (West Bengal Act 41 of 1973), the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the plying of a tractor for hire by owners of a tractor plying for hire.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a tractor plying for hire carrying on the plying of a tractor for hire shall make an application in Form 3 to the Panchayat Samiti within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Secretary of the Gram Panchayat shall ensure that assessment register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Panchayat Samiti within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal.
