STANDING ORDER

To

All registering authorities,

Subject: Service as a conductor by conductors of a stage carriage under the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1957, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1957 (Karnataka Act 35 of 1957), the Transport Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to service as a conductor by conductors of a stage carriage.

2. The matter has been examined. Every conductor of a stage carriage carrying on service as a conductor shall make an application in Form 38 to the Government of Karnataka within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The registering authority shall ensure that certificate of fitness is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Karnataka within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Karnataka.
