STANDING ORDER
To
All Tahsildars,
Subject: The occupation of land by occupants under the Goa, Daman and Diu Agricultural Tenancy Act, 1964, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Goa, Daman and Diu Agricultural Tenancy Act, 1964 (Goa Act 7 of 1964), the Revenue Department, Government of Goa hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the occupation of land by occupants.
2. The matter has been examined. Every occupant carrying on the occupation of land shall make an application in Form 3 to the Settlement Officer within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.
3. The Tahsildar shall ensure that certificate of occupancy is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within forty-five days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Goa.
