STANDING ORDER

To

All Provost Marshals,

Subject: The construction of buildings in a cantonment by owners of land within a cantonment under the Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act, 2002, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act, 2002 (Karnataka Act 1 of 2002), the Home Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the construction of buildings in a cantonment by owners of land within a cantonment.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of land within a cantonment carrying on the construction of buildings in a cantonment shall make an application in Form H to the Cantonment Board within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Provost Marshal shall ensure that identity card is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Cantonment Board within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Karnataka.
