STANDING ORDER

All Deputies Superintendent of Police,

Subject: The business of a pawnbroker by persons carrying on the business of a pawnbroker under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999 (Maharashtra Act 30 of 1999), the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the business of a pawnbroker by persons carrying on the business of a pawnbroker.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person carrying on the business of a pawnbroker carrying on the business of a pawnbroker shall make an application in Form III to the Licensing Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Deputy Superintendent of Police shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra.
