STANDING ORDER
To
All Sub-Inspectors of Excise,
Subject: The cultivation of hemp under licence by cultivators of hemp under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (Punjab Act 1 of 1914), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of hemp under licence by cultivators of hemp.
2. The matter has been examined. Every cultivator of hemp carrying on the cultivation of hemp under licence shall make an application in Form A to the Commissioner within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.
3. The Sub-Inspector of Excise shall ensure that still is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Commissioner within seven days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Punjab.
