STANDING ORDER

To

All Forest Officers,

Subject: The transport of hazardous substances by operators of a vehicle carrying hazardous substances under the Kerala Forest Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Forest Act, 1961 (Kerala Act 4 of 1961), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the transport of hazardous substances by operators of a vehicle carrying hazardous substances.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a vehicle carrying hazardous substances carrying on the transport of hazardous substances shall make an application in Form II to the Government of Kerala within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. The Forest Officer shall ensure that monitoring report is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Kerala within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Kerala.
