STANDING ORDER

To

All Panchayat Inspectors,

Subject: The construction of a building in a village by owners of a building in a village under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 (West Bengal Act 41 of 1973), the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the construction of a building in a village by owners of a building in a village.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a building in a village carrying on the construction of a building in a village shall make an application in Form 3 to the District Panchayat within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Panchayat Inspector shall ensure that ferry is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Panchayat within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of West Bengal.
