STANDING ORDER

To

All Panchayat Development Officers,

Subject: The running of a village bus stand by licensees of a village bus stand under the Karnataka Gram Swaraj and Panchayat Raj Act, 1993, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Gram Swaraj and Panchayat Raj Act, 1993 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1993), the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a village bus stand by licensees of a village bus stand.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a village bus stand carrying on the running of a village bus stand shall make an application in Form 5 to the Block Development Officer within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Panchayat Development Officer shall ensure that ferry is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Block Development Officer within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Karnataka.
