STANDING ORDER

To

All Medical Officers,

Subject: The practice of pharmacy by pharmacists under the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949 (Maharashtra Act 15 of 1949), the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the practice of pharmacy by pharmacists.

2. The matter has been examined. Every pharmacist carrying on the practice of pharmacy shall make an application in Form 28 to the Government of Maharashtra within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Medical Officer shall ensure that establishment is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Maharashtra within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra.
