STANDING ORDER

All Junior Engineers,

Subject: The bottling of water by bottlers of water under the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002 (Kerala Act 19 of 2002), the Water Resources Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the bottling of water by bottlers of water.

2. The matter has been examined. Every bottler of water carrying on the bottling of water shall make an application in Form C to the Irrigation Authority within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Junior Engineer shall ensure that dam is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Irrigation Authority within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Kerala.
