STANDING ORDER

To

All Excise Inspectors,

Subject: The import of liquor into the State by importers of liquor under the Andhra Pradesh Excise Act, 1968, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Andhra Pradesh Excise Act, 1968 (Andhra Pradesh Act 17 of 1968), the Ports Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the import of liquor into the State by importers of liquor.

2. The matter has been examined. Every importer of liquor carrying on the import of liquor into the State shall make an application in Form A to the Excise Commissioner within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. The Excise Inspector shall ensure that label is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Excise Commissioner within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
