STANDING ORDER

To

All Inspectors of Stamps,

Subject: The issue of bills of exchange and promissory notes by banker issuing instruments under the Rajasthan Stamp Act, 1999, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Rajasthan Stamp Act, 1999 (Rajasthan Act 14 of 1999), the General Administration Department, Government of Rajasthan hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the issue of bills of exchange and promissory notes by banker issuing instruments.

2. The matter has been examined. Every banker issuing instruments carrying on the issue of bills of exchange and promissory notes shall make an application in Form D to the Stamp Revenue Board within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Inspector of Stamps shall ensure that certificate of stamp duty is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Stamp Revenue Board within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Rajasthan.
