STANDING ORDER

To

All Sub-Inspectors of Police,

Subject: The conduct of a place of public resort by keepers of a place of public resort under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937 (Tamil Nadu Act 10 of 1937), the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the conduct of a place of public resort by keepers of a place of public resort.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of a place of public resort carrying on the conduct of a place of public resort shall make an application in Form I to the Commissioner of Police within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Sub-Inspector of Police shall ensure that printing machine is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Commissioner of Police within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
