STANDING ORDER

All Specified Officers,

Subject: The import of goods by importers under the Tamil Nadu Special Economic Zones (Special Provisions) Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Special Economic Zones (Special Provisions) Act, 2005 (Tamil Nadu Act 18 of 2005), the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the import of goods by importers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every importer carrying on the import of goods shall make an application in Form ANF-5A to the Reserve Bank within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Specified Officer shall ensure that unit is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Reserve Bank within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
