STANDING ORDER

To

All officers in charge of a police station,

Subject: The sale of poisons by licensees for the sale of poisons under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937 (Tamil Nadu Act 10 of 1937), the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sale of poisons by licensees for the sale of poisons.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee for the sale of poisons carrying on the sale of poisons shall make an application in Form I to the State Government within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The officer in charge of a police station shall ensure that cartridge is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Government within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
