STANDING ORDER
To
All Village Accountants,
Subject: The cultivation of land as tenant by tenants under the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954 (West Bengal Act 1 of 1954), the Revenue Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as tenant by tenants.
2. The matter has been examined. Every tenant carrying on the cultivation of land as tenant shall make an application in Form 12 to the Revenue Divisional Officer within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.
3. The Village Accountant shall ensure that khasra is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Revenue Divisional Officer within one hundred and twenty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of West Bengal.
