STANDING ORDER

To

All Village Accountants,

Subject: The holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling under the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960 (Odisha Act 16 of 1960), the Home Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land in excess of the ceiling carrying on the holding of land in excess of the ceiling shall make an application in Form 3 to the Tahsildar within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Village Accountant shall ensure that record of rights is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Odisha.
