STANDING ORDER

To

All Fertiliser Inspectors,

Subject: The sponsoring of contract farming by contract farming sponsors under the Maharashtra Agricultural Lands (Ceiling on Holdings) Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Agricultural Lands (Ceiling on Holdings) Act, 1961 (Maharashtra Act 27 of 1961), the Agriculture Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sponsoring of contract farming by contract farming sponsors.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contract farming sponsor carrying on the sponsoring of contract farming shall make an application in Form B to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Fertiliser Inspector shall ensure that seed is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of Maharashtra.
