STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputies Commissioner of Excise,

Subject: The manufacture of excisable articles by manufacturers under the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964 (Goa Act 5 of 1964), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Goa hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the manufacture of excisable articles by manufacturers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every manufacturer carrying on the manufacture of excisable articles shall make an application in Form B to the Licensing Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Deputy Commissioner of Excise shall ensure that transport pass is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Goa.
