CIRCULAR
To
All Inspecting Officers,
Subject: The trading of electricity by trading licensees under the Electricity Act, 2003, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (36 of 2003), the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission hereby issues the following
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the trading of electricity by trading licensees.
2. The matter has been examined. Every trading licensee carrying on the trading of electricity shall make an application in Form IV to the Chief Electrical Inspector within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the trading of electricity is undertaken, and the Chief Electrical Inspector shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this circular may be brought to the notice of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission.
