STANDING ORDER

To

All Inspectors of Factories,

Subject: The running of a motor transport undertaking by owners of a motor transport undertaking under the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1962, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1962 (Karnataka Act 8 of 1962), the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a motor transport undertaking by owners of a motor transport undertaking.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a motor transport undertaking carrying on the running of a motor transport undertaking shall make an application in Form II to the appropriate Government within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Inspector of Factories shall ensure that muster roll is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the appropriate Government within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka.
