STANDING ORDER

To

All Sampling Officers,

Subject: The carrying on of a food business by food business operators under the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1977, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1977 (Maharashtra Act 9 of 1977), the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the carrying on of a food business by food business operators.

2. The matter has been examined. Every food business operator carrying on the carrying on of a food business shall make an application in Form F to the Adjudicating Officer within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of seven thousand five hundred rupees.

3. The Sampling Officer shall ensure that food product is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Adjudicating Officer within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Maharashtra.
