STANDING ORDER

All Registering Officers,

Subject: The publication of news on a digital platform by publishers of news on a digital platform under the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 23 of 1964), the Law Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the publication of news on a digital platform by publishers of news on a digital platform.

2. The matter has been examined. Every publisher of news on a digital platform carrying on the publication of news on a digital platform shall make an application in Form IV to the Board of Film Certification within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Registering Officer shall ensure that certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board of Film Certification within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Karnataka.
