STANDING ORDER

To

All Market Secretaries,

Subject: The sale of seeds by dealers under the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1987, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1987 (Tamil Nadu Act 27 of 1987), the Agriculture Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sale of seeds by dealers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer carrying on the sale of seeds shall make an application in Form A to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Market Secretary shall ensure that insecticide is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
