STANDING ORDER

All Assessing Officers,

Subject: The execution of electrical installation work by electrical contractors under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003 (Gujarat Act 24 of 2003), the Housing Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the execution of electrical installation work by electrical contractors.

2. The matter has been examined. Every electrical contractor carrying on the execution of electrical installation work shall make an application in Form IV to the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. The Assessing Officer shall ensure that energy bill is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Housing Department, Government of Gujarat.
