STANDING ORDER

All Electrical Inspectors,

Subject: The retail sale of petroleum products by retail outlet dealers under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003 (Gujarat Act 24 of 2003), the Labour Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the retail sale of petroleum products by retail outlet dealers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every retail outlet dealer carrying on the retail sale of petroleum products shall make an application in Form VIII to the Chief Electrical Inspector within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.

3. The Electrical Inspector shall ensure that test report is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Chief Electrical Inspector within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Gujarat.
