STANDING ORDER

To

All Health Officers,

Subject: The manufacture of drugs by manufacturers under the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act, 2007, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act, 2007 (Karnataka Act 21 of 2007), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the manufacture of drugs by manufacturers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every manufacturer carrying on the manufacture of drugs shall make an application in Form 29 to the Appropriate Authority within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. The Health Officer shall ensure that stock register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Appropriate Authority within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka.
