STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistants Superintendent of Stamps,

Subject: The writing of instruments for reward by document writers under the Karnataka Stamp Act, 1957, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Stamp Act, 1957 (Karnataka Act 34 of 1957), the Transport Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the writing of instruments for reward by document writers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every document writer carrying on the writing of instruments for reward shall make an application in Form C to the State Government within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Assistant Superintendent of Stamps shall ensure that instrument is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Government within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Karnataka.
