STANDING ORDER

To

All Registering Officers,

Subject: Photography at a protected monument by holders of a photography permit under the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960 (Maharashtra Act 12 of 1960), the Tourism Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to photography at a protected monument by holders of a photography permit.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of a photography permit carrying on photography at a protected monument shall make an application in Form VII to the Director of Tourism within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Registering Officer shall ensure that permission is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Tourism within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Maharashtra.
