STANDING ORDER

To

All Circle Officers,

Subject: The possession of land by persons in possession of land under the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950 (Bihar Act 30 of 1950), the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Bihar hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the possession of land by persons in possession of land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person in possession of land carrying on the possession of land shall make an application in Form 5 to the Tahsildar within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Circle Officer shall ensure that record of rights is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Bihar.
