STANDING ORDER

All Sanitary Inspectors,

Subject: The ownership of a building by owners of a building under the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994 (Kerala Act 20 of 1994), the Urban Development Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the ownership of a building by owners of a building.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a building carrying on the ownership of a building shall make an application in Form C to the Municipal Council within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. The Sanitary Inspector shall ensure that hoarding is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Municipal Council within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Kerala.
