STANDING ORDER

To

All Highway Administration Officers,

Subject: The use of a transport vehicle by permit holders under the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985 (Kerala Act 21 of 1985), the Transport Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the use of a transport vehicle by permit holders.

2. The matter has been examined. Every permit holder carrying on the use of a transport vehicle shall make an application in Form 1 to the Transport Commissioner within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Highway Administration Officer shall ensure that insurance certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Transport Commissioner within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Kerala.
