STANDING ORDER

To

All Panchayat Inspectors,

Subject: The execution of works for a Panchayat by contractors engaged by a Panchayat under the Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1962, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1962 (Maharashtra Act 5 of 1962), the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the execution of works for a Panchayat by contractors engaged by a Panchayat.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor engaged by a Panchayat carrying on the execution of works for a Panchayat shall make an application in Form 8 to the Block Development Officer within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Panchayat Inspector shall ensure that assessment register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Block Development Officer within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra.
