STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistant Charity Commissioners,

Subject: The running of a pilgrim lodge by operators of a pilgrim lodge under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 (Karnataka Act 17 of 1960), the Revenue Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a pilgrim lodge by operators of a pilgrim lodge.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a pilgrim lodge carrying on the running of a pilgrim lodge shall make an application in Form G to the Endowments Tribunal within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Assistant Charity Commissioner shall ensure that audit report is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Endowments Tribunal within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Karnataka.
