STANDING ORDER

To

All Branch Managers,

Subject: The receipt of wages in a covered establishment by employees under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978 (Kerala Act 20 of 1978), the Labour Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the receipt of wages in a covered establishment by employees.

2. The matter has been examined. Every employee carrying on the receipt of wages in a covered establishment shall make an application in Form 2 to the Welfare Board within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Branch Manager shall ensure that benefit is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Welfare Board within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Kerala.
