STANDING ORDER

To

All Revenue Inspectors,

Subject: The possession of land by persons in possession of land under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act 10 of 1953), the Urban Development Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the possession of land by persons in possession of land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person in possession of land carrying on the possession of land shall make an application in Form 2 to the Sub-Divisional Officer within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Revenue Inspector shall ensure that land revenue receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Sub-Divisional Officer within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Punjab.
