STANDING ORDER
To
All Municipal Engineers,
Subject: The keeping of a lodging house by owners of a lodging house under the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1977, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1977 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1977), the Urban Development Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a lodging house by owners of a lodging house.
2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a lodging house carrying on the keeping of a lodging house shall make an application in Form C to the Town Vending Committee within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.
3. The Municipal Engineer shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Town Vending Committee within fifteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Karnataka.
