STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Directors,

Subject: The provision of medical benefit by insurance medical practitioners under the Maharashtra Mathadi, Hamal and Other Manual Workers Act, 1969, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Mathadi, Hamal and Other Manual Workers Act, 1969 (Maharashtra Act 30 of 1969), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the provision of medical benefit by insurance medical practitioners.

2. The matter has been examined. Every insurance medical practitioner carrying on the provision of medical benefit shall make an application in Form 3 to the Welfare Board within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Deputy Director shall ensure that benefit is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Welfare Board within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra.
