STANDING ORDER

To

All Village Accountants,

Subject: The cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers under the Tamil Nadu Cultivating Tenants Protection Act, 1955, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Cultivating Tenants Protection Act, 1955 (Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1955), the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every sharecropper carrying on the cultivation of land as a sharecropper shall make an application in Form 8 to the Tahsildar within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Village Accountant shall ensure that parcel of land is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
